An online event about hosting online events

On May 20 at 2pm Eastern, Bianca Viray and Drew Sutherland will be moderating a panel discussion on hosting mathematics events online.  The panelists are all mathematicians who have recently organized online workshops or conferences.  Their hope is that the discussion will allow those who are planning future online events to benefit from the panelists’ experience. You can find more details here.

Sutherland is one of the founders of mathseminars.org, which recently underwent metamorphosis to become researchseminars.org.  Viray was recently elected to the AMS Council.

This blog is about Mathematical Reviews, MathSciNet, and related topics.  So let me take this opportunity to encourage organizers of online seminars and conferences to link to the public author profile pages of the speakers on MathSciNet.  To obtain the URL for the link, use the Author search on MathSciNet to find the speaker’s profile page.  Click the Share button, which will show the URL and highlight it.  Then copy (Control C or Command C) and you are ready to paste.  Here is a screenshot of what it looks like on Sutherland’s page.
