It works on a points system.\u00a0 Points are awarded for both asking and answering questions, with different abilities to manipulate the site being given to people with a certain number of points.<\/p>\n<p>The Stack Overflow format is proving popular. In addition to the now senior <a href=\"http:\/\/mathoverflow.net\/\">Math Overflow<\/a>, where questions of mathematics of interest to professionals in mathematics are posted, we have three new sites:<\/p>\n<p>1. <a href=\"http:\/\/math.stackexchange.com\/\">Mathematics at the graduate level and below<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. <a href=\"http:\/\/stats.stackexchange.com\/\">Statistical Analysis<\/a><\/p>\n<p>3. <a href=\"http:\/\/tex.stackexchange.com\/\">TeX and LaTeX<\/a><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Kareem Carr For those who may not be aware, Stack Overflow is the popular question-and-answer site where people can ask and answer programming related questions.
