{"id":610,"date":"2010-01-30T18:36:17","date_gmt":"2010-01-30T22:36:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mathgradblog.williams.edu\/?p=610"},"modified":"2010-01-30T18:36:17","modified_gmt":"2010-01-30T22:36:17","slug":"2nd-annual-women-in-math-symposium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ams.org\/mathgradblog\/2010\/01\/30\/2nd-annual-women-in-math-symposium\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd Annual Women in Math Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>by\u00a0<a style=\"color: #115577;text-decoration: none\" href=\"mailto:briefly@math.ucsb.edu\">Brie Finegold<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>DEADLINE for registering is February 5th <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The symposium will be held on Saturday, February 20th at the University of\u00a0Southern California, 3 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. \u00a0The symposium is free and parking and lunch will be provided, but registration is required. \u00a0See\u00a0this website for \u00a0info on how to register and for last years schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a quick run down: \u00a0Talks should be 20 minutes long, and graduate students are encouraged to give a talk even if they don&#8217;t yet have their own results. <a href=\"http:\/\/almaak.usc.edu\/%7Esmontgom\/\">Susan Montgomery<\/a> of the\u00a0University of Southern California will provide a keynote address and participants will\u00a0break out in small groups to discuss issues pertinent to women in math.
