As many others have noted, Dr. Edmonds&#8217;s thread is expertly researched and written. Dr. Claytor was &#8220;an outstanding black mathematician&#8221; who &#8220;would have greatly benefited benefited consistent support of the mathematical community&#8221;. And as others have noted, Dr. Claytor is obviously worthy of having a fellowship named in his honor.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The Hesabu Circle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2382 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ams.org\/inclusionexclusion\/files\/2021\/02\/circle1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"330\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ams.org\/inclusionexclusion\/files\/2021\/02\/circle1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blogs.ams.org\/inclusionexclusion\/files\/2021\/02\/circle1-300x155.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>Dr. Kagba Suaray &#8220;wanted to create a space for the Black community to connect with each other and meet others with a shared interest in math&#8221;, so he joined with Robin Wilson, Edray Goins, Kyndall Brown, Rob Rubalcaba, Pamela Lewis, Micki Clowney, and Kekai Bryant to create the Hesabu Circle, &#8220;named after the Kiswahili word for mathematics&#8221;.
