As you may know, the AMS Department of Education is now physically located in DC. This helps us keep up to date with policies affecting higher education.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many state governments are curtailing in-person classes at their public universities, and many private colleges and universities are doing the same.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a service to the community, AMS Education Director Abbe Herzig has just posted a piece describing<\/span> tips for math instructors who are transitioning to teaching online.<\/a> This is an urgent concern,\u00a0especially for faculty and graduate students who have little or no experience teaching online and for all instructors who have to convert their courses in a short period of time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please help us circulate: it will be a great service to our community if we can get this out to math faculty and grads as broadly as we can. <\/span><\/p>\n
