\"JMMMD2016-web-header<\/a>The Joint Mathematics Meetings are over. \u00a0There were lots of good talks. \u00a0Lots of good books. \u00a0Lots of good mathematical art. \u00a0Overall, there were lots of good things. \u00a0The AMS has posts about the meetings on the AMS Facebook page<\/a>. \u00a0You can also see the old newsletters<\/a> from the meetings on the JMM site<\/a>. \u00a0Here are some things directly related to Mathematical Reviews.<\/p>\n

One of my themes with this blog is that Mathematical Reviews involves a lot of people. \u00a0We have 78 people in Ann Arbor. \u00a0There are very talented people in Providence that are essential, too. \u00a0For one thing (and there are many more things), they make it easy for us to set up shop at the Joint Meetings. \u00a0And we truly appreciate\u00a0the many mathematicians who participate in this endeavor by reviewing! \u00a0We were glad that so many of them came to the reception we had on January 8. \u00a0(See below for pictures.)<\/p>\n

There was complimentary access to MathSciNet throughout the convention center. \u00a0We were able to show people some great things about MathSciNet, including how to pair your laptop or tablet with a subscription<\/a> and how to personalize your Author Profile Page. \u00a0The newest feature we were showing off was how to provide a native script version of your name<\/a>. \u00a0We had special t-shirts to give away to people who updated their profiles. \u00a0We also gave away\u00a0some umbrellas (in traditional “Math Reviews Orange<\/span>“), foldable Frisbee-like flying disks, and card holders (that protect credit cards with chips). \u00a0The reviewers at the reception were very happy to hear that they were getting a raise<\/a>!<\/p>\n

The Mathematical Reviews booth at the Joint Meetings was a part of the AMS’s exhibit\u00a0(of course!). \u00a0It was staffed by some of our editors.<\/h4>\n
