\"JMMMD2016-web-header<\/a>The Joint Mathematics Meetings<\/a> are being held January 6-9, 2016 in Seattle. \u00a0 There is always a lot going on at the meetings: \u00a0invited lectures, special sessions, editorial meetings, exhibits, and the chance to connect with old friends. \u00a0Mathematical Reviews is planning several activities during the meetings. \u00a0Most will be at the Mathematical Reviews area of the AMS booth in the exhibit hall, Hall 4A, Level 4, Washington State Convention Center. \u00a0All are encouraged to\u00a0stop by the booth for conversation with editors, questions, impromptu demos, giveaways, and more. \u00a0 We will be glad to see you.<\/p>\n

Complimentary\u00a0MathSciNet at the meeting<\/strong>. \u00a0By special arrangement, MathSciNet will be available when using the wifi at the conference site. \u00a0This will not carry over to the hotels. \u00a0For that, you would have to pair your device for remote access…<\/p>\n

Pair your device for remote access<\/strong>. \u00a0Representatives from Mathematical Reviews and the AMS will be available at the booth to show you how to pair your laptop<\/a> or other device with a MathSciNet subscription. \u00a0It is very easy, and very convenient.<\/p>\n

Demos of MathSciNet<\/strong>. \u00a0Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of the meeting, at 2:15pm at the Mathematical Reviews\u00a0booth, there will be demonstrations of how to use MathSciNet. \u00a0The demos will be by experts, who know lots of great ways to use MathSciNet.<\/p>\n

MathSciNet Challenge for students<\/strong>. \u00a0Come to the booth and complete the short quiz for a chance to win a prize. \u00a0The challenge will be much easier for those of you who attend one of the demonstrations.<\/p>\n

Update your Author Profile Page. \u00a0<\/strong>Representatives will be available at the booth to help you update your author profile page on MathSciNet,\u00a0including the opportunity to add a photograph or \u00a0your name in its native script. \u00a0We will be set up to take a picture, in case you don’t have a favorite photo available. \u00a0 \u00a0Special t-shirts will be available (free!) to those who update their profiles.<\/p>\n

Working at Mathematical Reviews. \u00a0<\/b><\/span>If you are interested in possibly working at Mathematical Reviews as an Associate Editor, the JMM would provide a good opportunity to find out more about what we do. \u00a0My earlier\u00a0post<\/a> explains the open position. \u00a0Stop by the booth to talk with us!<\/p>\n

Mathematical Reviews Reception<\/strong>:\u00a0Friday, 6:00 pm\u2013 7:00 pm. All friends of the Mathematical Reviews (MathSciNet) are invited to join reviewers and MR editors and staff (past and present) for a special reception in honor of all of the efforts that go into the creation and publication of the Mathematical Reviews database. Refreshments will be served. The location is the Aspen Room in the Sheraton Hotel.<\/p>\n
