\"MDC\"My latest column has been published in the Notices of the American Mathematical Society<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 The topic is the MathSciNet for Developing Countries Program, or “MDC”, which was a topic in an earlier post<\/a> about the program, with a focus on Uzbekistan.\u00a0 \u00a0That post was inspired by Scott Hershberger’s piece<\/a> on the AMS web site.\u00a0 The column has more detail than the blog post.\u00a0 It also benefitted from some helpful editing from the editorial board of the Notices<\/em>, especially from Erica Flapan, the Chief Editor.<\/p>\n

At the end of the article is some information about how you can donate to a fund that supports the program, which I am happy to repeat here.\u00a0 There are three ways you can donate to the MDC Fund: on the AMS website here<\/a>, by sending a check to the AMS Development Department (address below) and instructing the AMS to direct the gift to the MDC Fund, or by calling the Development Office at +1 (401) 455-4126.<\/p>\n
