\"Mathematics<\/a>The Mathematics Genealogy Project (MGP) has a new home on the internet: http:\/\/mathgenealogy.org\/<\/a>.\u00a0 It is all the same content, and still brought to you by the\u00a0NDSU Department of Mathematics<\/a>, with support from the American Mathematical Society\u200b<\/a>.\u00a0 Now, however, the website and the data are on cloud servers, for increased stability.\u00a0 Check it out!\u00a0 <\/p>\n

On the afternoon of Friday, 19 June 2020, an extended power failure took down the MGP server at North Dakota State University. All data (including pending data submissions) are safely backed up, but MGP has made the decision to migrate to a cloud server at mathgenealogy.org<\/a>. You may experience some disruptions for a time. In particular, contacting the MGP via email or their contact form will be unreliable for some days yet. The MGP staff ask that you refrain from using the contact form or making data submissions\/updates during this time. The MGP will remove their announcement of the move from their home page when those forms are functional.\u00a0 I will add a note to this blog post once I hear from MGP that everything is running smoothly again.<\/p>\n

13 July 2020<\/b>\u2014Our historical domain name now functions properly, and our nightly updating from the working database to the public database is now set up again. Undoubtedly, there will be some remaining glitches regarding the server migration. Please use the contact form<\/a> if you identify problems.<\/p>\n
