Search by DOI<\/h4>\n<p>The first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/tweak\">tweak<\/a> is the ability to search by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Digital_object_identifier\">DOI<\/a> in a publications search.<\/p>\n<p>In a Publication search, you have the following fourteen options for fielded search:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Author,\u00a0Author Related,\u00a0Title, Review Text, Journal, Institution, Series,<br \/>\nMSC Primary\/Secondary, MSC Primary,\u00a0MR Number,\u00a0DOI,\u00a0Reviewer,<br \/>\nAnywhere,\u00a0References.<\/p>\n<p>The newest of these is <span style=\"color: blue\">DOI<\/span>.\u00a0 You can now search MathSciNet by entering the DOI of a paper.\u00a0 For example, if you have the DOI\u00a010.1090\/S0273-0979-1992-00266-5, entering it in the field<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2373\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ams.org\/beyondreviews\/files\/2019\/03\/DOI-search-1-300x103.png\" alt=\"Example of searching for a DOI in a MathSciNet Publications search\" width=\"300\" height=\"103\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ams.org\/beyondreviews\/files\/2019\/03\/DOI-search-1-300x103.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ams.org\/beyondreviews\/files\/2019\/03\/DOI-search-1-768x262.png 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ams.org\/beyondreviews\/files\/2019\/03\/DOI-search-1-1024x350.png 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.ams.org\/beyondreviews\/files\/2019\/03\/DOI-search-1.png 1276w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><br \/>\nMake sure to put in the full DOI.\u00a0 A complete DOI contains a <strong>prefix<\/strong>\u00a0and a <strong>suffix<\/strong>, separated by a &#8220;<strong>\/<\/strong>&#8220;.\u00a0 Since people will often be copying and pasting DOIs into the field, we made is so that you can even put in the URL of the DOI resolver:<\/p>\n<pre>https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1090\/S0273-0979-1992-00266-5\r\nor\r\nhttps:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1090\/S0273-0979-1992-00266-5<\/pre>\n<p>and the search will work.\u00a0 (It also works with <strong>http<\/strong> instead of <strong>https<\/strong>\u00a0in the URL.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0Sometimes publishers include a &#8220;<strong>\/<\/strong>&#8221; in the <span style=\"color: red\">suffix<\/span>, as in <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1093\/imrn\/rns214\">https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1093\/<span style=\"color: red\">imrn\/rns214<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The result of the search in the example is the paper by Crandall, Ishii, and Lions on viscosity solutions:<\/p>\n<p><strong>MR1118699<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mathscinet.ams.org\/mathscinet\/search\/author.html?mrauthid=52600\">Crandall, Michael G.<\/a><span class=\"instInfo\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mathscinet.ams.org\/mathscinet\/search\/institution.html?code=1-UCSB\">(1-UCSB)<\/a><\/span>;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mathscinet.ams.org\/mathscinet\/search\/author.html?mrauthid=189965\">Ishii, Hitoshi<\/a><span class=\"instInfo\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mathscinet.ams.org\/mathscinet\/search\/institution.html?code=J-CHUO\">(J-CHUO)<\/a><\/span>;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mathscinet.ams.org\/mathscinet\/search\/author.html?mrauthid=114530\">Lions, Pierre-Louis<\/a><span class=\"instInfo\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mathscinet.ams.org\/mathscinet\/search\/institution.html?code=F-PARIS9-A\">(F-PARIS9-A)<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"title\">User&#8217;s guide to viscosity solutions of second order partial differential equations.<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mathscinet.ams.org\/mathscinet\/search\/journaldoc.html?id=3001\"><em>Bull.
