AMS members can sign up for email notifications of newly added items by subject area<\/strong>.\u00a0 You can select up to three 2-digit Mathematics Subject Classifications<\/a>.\u00a0 Then, about once a month, we will send you a list of all the items that have been added to the Mathematical Reviews database in those areas in the last month.<\/p>\n

This service has existed for years, but many people don’t seem to know about it.\u00a0 It is the electronic version of Current Mathematical Publications (CMP)<\/em>, hence is known as e-CMP.\u00a0 The CMP<\/em> was a printed publication that was meant to give a quick listing of the newest material that had been received at Mathematical Reviews.\u00a0 When the\u00a0CMP<\/em> was started (in 1965), Mathematical Reviews<\/em> existed only in print form.\u00a0 \u00a0Items were only added to the printed Mathematical Reviews\u00a0<\/em>volumes once the work was done on them, including the review.\u00a0 There could be some delay.\u00a0 So, we started offering a publication of quicker notifications of published items.\u00a0\u00a0As email caught on, we started offering electronic notifications to AMS members.\u00a0 When Mathematical Reviews<\/em> went online, it became possible to load bibliographic information about the items without waiting for a review.\u00a0 Nevertheless, the same email notification service has continued as a member-only benefit. And it is quite handy.<\/p>\n

How to activate \/ modify e-CMP notifications<\/strong>.\u00a0 Go to the e-CMP information page<\/a>.\u00a0 Click on the “Go to e-CMP<\/a>” link, which will take you to a sign-in page.\u00a0 Login with the credentials for your AMS membership, and you will come to a screen that looks like this:\u00a0 \u00a0\"Page<\/p>\n

Pick some subject classes.\u00a0 Make the changes.\u00a0 And check your Inbox the first week of every month.<\/p>\n
